Marvin F. Doffing

Marvin Doffing, age 74 of Hastings died June 28, 2014. Marvin was born October 27, 1939 in Hastings, MN to Phillip and Lena (Kruger) Doffing. Marvin graduated from Hasting High School in 1958. On February 20, 1960, Marvin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Judith Rita Fox. They were married for 47 years until Judiths passing in 2007. Their marriage was blessed with four children and twelve grandchildren. Marvin was employed at 3M Chemolite for 43 years until his retirement in 2009. During his retirement he enjoyed having coffee with his friends and attending classic car shows. He enjoyed spending time with his special friend Deana Rutledge.Marvin was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Marvin is survived by his daughters Michelle (Chris) Dittrich of Hastings, Patricia Doffing of Hastings and Kelly Ritt of Shakopee; son Cory (Gretchen) Doffing of Prescott, WI; sisters Lorraine (James) Ellingboe of Donnellson, IA and Betty Charles of Maplewood; brothers Paul (Rita) Doffing of Hastings and Dennis (Thea) Doffing of Hastings; grandchildren Sarah, Michael, Joseph and Nicholas Dittrich, Katie (Levi) Reese, Garrett and Johnathon Ritt, Alexander, Jacob and Lauren Doffing; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judith, granddaughter Hannah Jean Ritt; grandson Matt Robert Doffing; brothers DeWayne, Gary and Larry Doffing and sister Rita Casby. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home 201 E. 7th St. and one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be at the parish cemetery in Hastings. Pallbearers are his nephews Jeremy, Phillip and Dan Doffing, Randy and Ronald Fox and Kevin Wiley.
