Marlene M. Olesen

Marlene M. Olesen, age 81, of Hastings died Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Hastings. She was born September 17, 1931 in Hastings to Carl and Freda (Herkenratt) Hankes. She graduated from Hastings Schools in 1949. She was a homemaker. She married Vernon G. Olesen on October 2, 1964 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Hastings. Vernon died November 23, 1999.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Dale and a sister Joanne. Surviving her are her children Pam (Bob) Niebur of Hastings, a son Jim (Sheri) Olesen of Hastings, grandchildren Lisa (Jacob) Ginsberg, Jake (Sara) Niebur, Cheryl (Fiance Jason Raway) Olesen and Jon Olesen, great grandchildren Riley and Lilly Ginsberg and Baby Niebur. Also bysiblings Carla Reichenberg, Keith (Barb) Hankes, Janice Langenfeld, Patricia Bauer, Lois (Tom) Soleim, Justin (Ginny) Hankes, Beth Hankes, Michael Hankes and Linda (Bill) Hamman all of Hastings.A visitation will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 Seventh St. E., Hastings. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11 am at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
