On Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, Marjorie "Marge" Beissel, age 88 of Hastings, was welcomed into God's Kingdom. Marjorie Louise, the daughter of Henry Sr. and Margaret (Wollmering) Peine, was born on the family farm on July 19, 1933. Following her graduation from Farmington High School, Marge was united in marriage to Fritz Beissel in November of 1953. Together, they enjoyed farming side by side for many years. Marge was often known to play cards like a shark and was always willing to open her house to anyone in need. She accepted people for who they were and was never the type to judge people's life decisions. Marge was strong in her faith and was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, and more recently, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. May we always strive to follow Marge's famous words: "Everyone has differences, just learn to get along." She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fritz in 1999; oldest daughter, Geri in 1989; siblings, Henry Jr., Mary Rose Feidt, Lawrence Peine, Ervin Peine, Vi Weber, and Kenneth "Butch" Peine; and by her special friend, Jerry Sylwester. Marge is survived by her loving children, Dale (Missy) Beissel, Peggy (Mark) Hoffman, Lois (Kevin) Zeman, and Danny Beissel (Debi DeFoe); eleven grandchildren and ten and a half great grandchildren; siblings, Lloyd (Lenore) Peine, John (Helen) Peine, and Casey (Ron) Greene; the extended Beissel and Peine Families; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Private family interment will be held at the parish cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and to a reception immediately following the Mass, all at church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Marge. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
