Marjorie M. Pabst

Marjorie M. Pabst, age 83, of Hastings, passed away November 29, 2020. The youngest of 11 children, she grew up on the family farm in Miesville, MN and attended Hastings High School. She married Roland Pabst in 1958 and was devoted to her family as they started their life together in Roberts, WI. They moved back to Hastings and then Red Wing before settling in St. Paul Park to raise their four children. But Hastings was always her hometown, and they happily returned there in 2007. Marge celebrated her Irish heritage, and she enjoyed baking goodies, making cards and crocheting for all of her family and friends. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland; her parents and beloved siblings. Marjorie is survived by children, Cindy (Pat) Teal; Sally (Mike) Benner; Joseph (Debra) Pabst, and Sharon (Christopher) VanDyke; grandchildren, Randall Johnson, Bethany (Randy) Bagwill, Jeremy (Christine) Teal, and Alyssa (Kurt) Kangas; Matt (Erin) Benner, Jill (John) Junker and Rob (Anna) Benner; Sayer, Coleman and Carter VanDyke; great grandchildren, Lilian, Jackson, Easton, Adam, Tenley, Chloe and Carly; Scarlet, Asa, Johnny, Jase, Jules, Nathan, Nora and Michael; siblings, Joan Steffenhagen, Mildred Ruhr and Lois Ruhr; many godchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 3, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings, and from 9:30-10:30 am at the funeral home on Thursday. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
