Marilyn Benzick

Marilyn Marie Benzick, age 81 of Hastings, entered her eternal home on July 1st, 2017. Marilyn was born to Paul and Mary Kruger in South St. Paul on January 12, 1936 where she would continue to grow up. Through some friends and family, Marilyn met the love of her life Donald Benzick, of LeCenter. They would be married at St. Augustine Catholic Church in South St. Paul on November 10, 1956 and since have been married for 61 years. During the 70’s Marilyn pursued a nursing degree at Inver Hills Community College. In her profession as an R.N. she held a passion for caring for those in need especially those needing rehabilitation. Marilyn spent the majority of her career working for the Health East system. Aside from her work as a nurse and raising family, Marilyn enjoyed traveling, golf, painting, and gardening. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Paul Kruger; and sisters, Esther Carver and Jean Marsh. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Donald Benzick; children, Brian Benzick, Brenda (Tom) Wilebski, Brad Benzick, Bonnie (Steve) Vetsch, and Bentley Benzick; daughter-in-law, Sue Benzick; friend, Cliff; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Cora, Mitchell, Rachel, Janelle, Noah, Amy, Jesse; and six great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way soon!); sisters, Adeline Hardin and Sharon Ruhnke. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Regina Assisted Living and Alina Hospice for their care these last months. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Dave Hennen will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings on Thursday, July 6th at 11:00 A.M.
