Margie Voelker

Margie (Marge) Voelker, age 92, of Hastings, passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2017. She was born June 23, 1925 in Hastings, MN to Carl and Madeline (Schanno) Reichling. She married Karl Voelker on July 24, 1948 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings, MN. Margie graduated from the College of St. Benedict in 1947 with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. She received a Master’s Degree from the U of M in 1968. She was an Associate Professor and Head Librarian of the Mathematics Library at the U of M. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Voelker; son, Mark Voelker; and parents, Carl and Madeline Reichling. She is survived by her children, Ann Voelker, Mary (David) Phipps, and John (Mrta) Voelker; grandchildren, Andy (Wendi) Phipps, Sarah (Brian) Sills, Sam Phipps, Dan Phipps, Emma Phipps, Madeline Voelker, Jane Voelker, Mt Kovcs, Mrtika Kovcs, Magdalna Kovcs; great grandchildren, Eli, Gabe and Alex. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday (10/24) at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to Mass at church. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Hastings Family Service.
