Magdalena Fuchs

Magdalena (Meier) Fuchs, age 89 of Hastings died Sunday evening, December 13, 2015 at her home following an extended illness surrounded by her loving family. Magdalena was born April 16, 1926 to Michael and Mary (Beissel) Meier in Vermillion, MN. She married Alvin "Bud" Fuchs on August 28, 1946 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Magdalena was a homemaker and loved spending time with her many family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bud; son, Ronald; brothers, Joe and Lenny Meier; sisters, Sue Cysiewski, Philomena Becker, Viola Sherer and Theresa Meier. Magdalena is survived by her daughters, Donna (Al) Teuber of Hastings, Gloria (Ken) Murphy of Afton, Linda (Glen) Howard of Cottage Grove, Charlene Fort, Laurie (John) Boston and Cheryl Podolski, all of Hastings; sons Scott (Kathy) Fuchs of Hager City, WI and Terry (Dana) Fuchs of Cottage Grove; also 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Fuchs of River Falls, WI, Rose Meier of St. Paul, Emma Seeger of Hastings; sister-in-law, Char Meier of Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth St. in Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday and 9-10 AM Wednesday, all AT CHURCH Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
