Lowell C. Daley

Lowell C. Daley died peacefully in his home Monday morning after a courageous battle with cancer. Lowell was born May 19th, 1943 in Red Wing, MN. He grew up on a family farm in Welch, MN and graduated from Red Wing High School in 1961. He continued his schooling at Dunwoody Technical College in Minneapolis where he graduated with a construction electricity degree. Lowell was a proud member of the I.B.E.W. Local Union 110 for his entire career until he retired in 2005. After his retirement, he enjoyed helping others, including volunteering at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and biking, and loved attending his grandchildren’s activities. Neighbors could set their clocks by his daily walks with his wife, Sylvia and his trusty sidekick, Barney. He also loved taking leaf-watching trips with Sylvia. Lowell is preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Helen Daley, and his brother Bernard Daley. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sylvia; his children, Lisa (Ed) Smith of Spooner, WI and Tom (Jackie) Daley of Hastings, MN; his grandchildren, John Wagner (21); Zack Benning (19); Avery Daley (11) and Maddy Daley (10), his siblings, Kenneth Daley; Duane “Oscar” (Janet) Daley; Diane Perrier; Kathy (Keith) Sebion and Dan (Linda) Daley; and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (2/6) at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held on Thursday (2/5) from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Pallbearers are: Adrian Daley; Gunnar Daley; John Perrier; Zachary Daley; Kane Daley and Jason Sebion.The Wise Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
