Lorraine B. Swanson

Lorraine B. Swanson, age 84, of Hastings died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Regina Nursing Home. Lorraine was born on February 17, 1926 in Hastings to Henry and Ida (Lynn) Samuelson. She was united in marriage to Lloyd B. Swanson on June 6, 1948 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Welch. Lorraine was a 1944 graduate of Hastings High School and attended Teacher�s training in Red Wing. She taught in a one room school on Prairie Island for two years prior to her marriage to Lloyd. Lorraine was a member of the Eastern Star � Electa Chapter, and Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd on December 14, 2010; and sisters Eleanor Smith and Mildred Schendel. She is survived by her children Noreen Swanson and Gary Swanson, both of Hastings; also her special 4-legged friend Ziggy. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin, will be 2PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
