Loretta P. Diede

Loretta P Diede, age 81, of Hastings, passed away December 20, 2018 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was born on June 17, 1937, in Miller, SD to Clarence and Martha Rosemore. Loretta graduated from Miller High School in 1955. On June 26 of that same year she married Ervin Diede at the United Methodist Church in Miller, SD. Ervin and Loretta moved multiple times due to Ervins profession, settling in Hastings, MN, for the majority of their lives. Briefly they resided in Mesa, AZ but returned to Hastings upon Ervins retirement. Loretta was employed by Eddys Pharmacy in Hastings, Corning in Mesa, AZ and finally Hallmark in Hastings until her retirement. She was an active member of the YMCA, United Methodist Church and the Hastings Senior Center. Loretta was a very caring and compassionate person, always putting her familys needs before her own. She had many lifelong friends she loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Loretta is survived by her son Craig (Debbie) of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Renetta Diede of Hastings, grandchildren Lyndsey, Kyle, Danny (Shelby) all of Phoenix, AZ , sister Lee (Marlin) Jerpseth of Burnsville, MN, eight sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews along with countless family and friends who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, her parents, brothers Bud, Larry, Gus, Vince and Loren. Funeral service will be 12:00pm Friday January 4, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, in Miller, South Dakota. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
