Lois L. (Melby) Mcnamara

Lois L. (Melby) McNamara, age 85, of Hastings, and formerly of West St. Paul, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Augustana Health Care Center. Lois was born June 30, 1923 in Hastings to John and Edna (Erickson) Melby. She was a 1942 graduate of Hastings High School. Lois was a clerical worker at Tru Part Supply Company in St. Paul prior to her retirement. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in West St. Paul, and Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church in Hastings; and was a charter member of ARC. Lois was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years, Donald; and 4 siblings. Lois is survived by her children, Joyce (Gerald) Miller of Vadnais Heights, Ted McNamara of Dayton, Donna (Craig) King of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren, Timothy (Brenda) Miller, Lizabeth Miller, Jason (Kay) King, Andy McNamara; great grandchildren, Frankie and Andrew Miller, Daniel King; sisters, Beth Hecimovich, JoAnn McNamara, Joyce (Art) Hoffman, all of Hastings; numerous nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin, will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, May 15, 2009 at Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 West Ninth St., Hastings, followed by interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Goodhue. The visitation will be from 5-7PM, Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred.
