Linda (Rother) Cleary

Linda (Rother) Cleary, age 67 of Port Orange, Florida, and formerly of Hastings, died suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Linda Louise, the daughter of Ray and Clara (Siebenaler) Rother, was born on May 1, 1953, in Hastings. She attended Hastings High School and in 1975, was united in marriage to James "Jim" Cleary at St. Boniface Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children, Bree and James, prior to later being divorced. Linda worked as a Nursing Assistant for twenty years in the Children's division at the University of Minnesota before moving to Florida where she owned and operated Linda's Home Cleaning. She was passionate in whatever she did, and worked very hard right up until her passing. Linda loved her grandkids, and especially enjoyed walking on the beach with them. She also enjoyed relaxing at home watching foreign movies and the news, and never missed the chance to go gambling. Linda was a longtime member of AA and was proud of her sobriety over the last thirty plus years. She believed in her Lord, and spent time reading her bible whenever she could. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gene Mamer and Jeanette Carl; and by her former husband, Jim. Linda is survived by her children, Bree Cleary (Jason Davis) and James Cleary (Deanna Burns); grandchildren, Haiden and James; siblings, Rita Regenscheid and Ray Rother; sister-in-law, Darlene Mamer; and by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery in Hastings. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
