Leona Bjerkness

Leona Ann Bjerkness, age 85, of Hastings, passed away on October 31, 2019. She was born May 13, 1934 in Emily, Minnesota. Preceded in death by husband, Donald; grandchildren, Matthew and Jason; great-grandson, Zachary; parents, Veronica and Joseph Katzenberger; siblings, Martin Katzenberger, Louis Katzenberger, Betty Lund and Kenny Katzenberger. She is survived by children, Gary (Robin) Bjerkness, Roseann (John) Hess, Kathy (Bill) Kromer, Randy (Connie) Bjerkness, Julie (Jon) Auge, Scott (Marge) Bjerkness and Shirley (Jon) Heinzen and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, November 11 at the Regina Senior Living Chapel, 1008 1st Street West in Hastings, with visitation at 8:30 AM. A luncheon will follow at Starkson Family Life Celebration Center, 3075 Vermillion Street in Hastings. Memorials preferred in Leona’s memory to the Allina Health Hospice Foundation, 3915 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN.Interment will be at the Schroeder Cemetery in Schroeder, MN.
