Lawrence "Larry" J. Burr

Lawrence "Larry" J. Burr, age 81 of Hastings died May 5, 2012 at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul. Larry was born December 18, 1930 in Miesville, MN to John and Helga (Larson) Burr. He was a 1949 graduate of Randolph High School and married Janice J. Dummer on August 9, 1958 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. He was employed with Peavey/Con Agra Mill from 1956 to 1972 and then with Koch Refinery from 1972 until his retirement in 1993. Larry pitched for area baseball and softball teams for many years. He was a Vikings and Twins fan who alsoenjoyed fishing in all seasons. Lawrence was preceded by his parents; wife Janice; brothers John and Ray Burr; sisters Veronica �Ronnie� Burr and Lucille Becker. He is survived by his son Jeff Burr of Bay City, WI; two grandchildren Jeff Burr of Green Bay, WI and Amanda Burr of Red Wing; siblings Edward (Arlis) Burr, Karen Feidt, and Joe Burr, all of Cannon Falls, and Lois (Louie) McEvoy of Prior Lake. The visitation will be held from5-8 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2012at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings and one hour prior to the service at church. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers are Richard Burr, Connie Bannie, Dennis McMahon, Louie McEvoy,Mike Burr and Ted Burr.
