Lawrence J. Peine, age 84 of rural Hampton died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at his home.Lawrence was born April 7, 1928 in Empire Township to Henry and Margaret (Wollmering) Peine. He married Dolores Landsberger in New Trier on September 9, 1953 and she preceded him in death. Lawrence married Mary (Hoffmann) Meyers on February 14, 1983 in St. Paul. He was a life-long New Trier area farmer.He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; son Larry; sisters Mary Rose Feidt and Vi Weber; brothers Ervin and �Butch�. Lawrence is survived by his wife Mary; children Gail (Bob) Kimmes, Jean Peine, Deb (Bob) Rahman, Dan (Bev) Peine, Ron (Bev) Peine, Nick (Pam) Peine, Ann Rapp and George Peine, and the Meyers children and their families; 36 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; brothers John (Helen) Peine, Henry (Monica) Peine and Lloyd (Lenore) Peine; sisters Marge Beissel and Casey (Ron) Greene. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to the service at church. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Stan Mader will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Mary�s Catholic Church of New Trier followed by interment in the parish cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210. The pallbearers are Aaron Peine, Matt Braford, Jeff Rahman, Theresa Kimmes, Nicole Peine, and Nathan Peine. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Werner, Raynard Rother, Gene Kimmes, Joe Marthaler, Nick Stein, Roger Kimmes, Jim McGraw and Dave Radman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association.
