Laurie Lee Precious, known as “Auntie Bobo” to family and “Lola” to friends, passed away suddenly at the age of 44 early in the morning on Monday, May 31st, 2021. Laurie lived her life fiercely while marching to the beat of her own drum. She was a force to be reckoned with and steadfast in her love for her family and those around her. She spent her life working in the hospitality industry and enjoyed many of the connections she made being a part of the community throughout her career. Laurie loved to dream about all of the ocean trips she would take, the treehouses she would visit, and the sunsets she would get to see. She enjoyed spending time with her kids shopping for anything purple she could find, laughing at silly things they found on the internet, and expressing how deeply she loved them and supported them being authentically themselves. Laurie inspired everyone around her to embrace who they truly are and forget the mold that society tells us all to fit in. She was unapologetic in her life and refused to “tiptoe” through it. Her vast and larger-than-life presence will be greatly missed and impossible to fill. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas A. Precious. Our family takes comfort in believing that they are together again. Laurie is survived by her three children, Tiana Precious- Richards, Graham Beissel, and Raena Birnstengel; grandchildren, Tayden Precious, and Sereya Valencia; loving partner, Pierre Ousley; mother, Donna Precious; aunt, Judy Graham; siblings; Jay Precious (Isabel and Hanah) and Tina (Chad) Werner (Madi and Cannon); step-mother, Terry Precious. There will be a celebration of life and benefit held for Laurie at the Coliseum in Hastings on Saturday, June 12th from 3 pm-6 pm with live music to follow. This loss was unexpected and tragic, so the family asks that in lieu of flowers or gift baskets please donate to directly support the kids on Venmo @Precious-Kids. We love you to the beach and back, Laurie, and we will “just keep swimming” as you would want us to.
