Kenneth G. Kaiser, age 74 of Hastings, died peacefully on Thursday morning, June 1, 2017, at Augustana Care of Hastings. Kenneth George, the son of George and Else (Miller) Kaiser, was born July 19, 1942, in St. Paul. He graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1962 and in 1964, married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Edith Specht, at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings. Kenneth was a longtime employee at Joe OBrien Chevrolet and Cadillac, formerly Freed Chevrolet and Cadillac, for 42 years. He was the rock of his family and also loved spending time with his friends. Kenneth was a former Vice President of the Eagles Club in Hastings, and enjoyed cars, fishing, and shooting pool, darts and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Carol Cushing of St. Paul. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Edith; children, Karri Lynn Donnay of Hastings and Christopher George (Katrina) Kaiser of Woodbine, GA; seven grandchildren; sister, Joyce Vasko of White Bear Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, with Reverend Dr. April Davis Campbell officiating. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings at a later date. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings, and will continue for a half hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday morning.
