Julie A. Zurfluh

Julie Ann Zurfluh, age 63 of Rosemount died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness with breast cancer. Julie was born January 16, 1952 in Forest City, IA to Lewine and Gladys (Tweed) Westland and was a 1970 graduate of Hastings High School. Julie began working in the billing department at Regina Hospital during high school and was employed there until her retirement. She loved to travel, go out to eat, was an avid reader and loved her family. Julie was an active volunteer and participant in breast cancer awareness. She was preceded in death by her parents. Julie is survived by her husband, Norman "Buzz" and son Jeffrey Zurfluh of Rosemount; sister Carole Jean (Richard) Kirtz and brother Mike (Ann) Westland, all of Hastings; nieces and nephews; mother in law Dorothy McClard of Rosemount; sisters and brothers in law, Rose (Doug) Johnson of Rosemount and Robert (Lynn) Zurfluh of Mountain Home, ID. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Duane Paetznik will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Service, 201 East Seventh St, Hastings and one hour prior to the service at church. Pallbearers are David Kirtz, Brian Kirtz, Blake Johnson and Daniel Vagts. Inurnment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
