Judith Ann "Judy" Hoeffel (nee Weyhmiller), age 83 of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born October 12, 1938, on the family farm in Loyal, Wisconsin. She attended the local one room schoolhouse and then Loyal High School, graduating in 1956. Working her way through college at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, she earned her BS in Education (Physical Education) in 1960. Her first teaching position was at Wilson Junior High in Appleton, Wisconsin. She loved the challenges of teaching and the opportunity to build self-confidence in her students. Ultimately earning the position of Dean of Women at Wilson. In Appleton she also met and married her husband, Peter, on August 20, 1966. Shortly thereafter their journey together took them to Cedar Rapids, IA. Judy continuing her teaching career and Peter with a role in sales. She brought not only her passion for athletics and human health, she also introduced Modern Dance to the curriculum. The year 1968 brought new opportunities as she and Peter moved to the Twin Cities followed by the birth of two children. She embraced the challenges of motherhood and was committed to raising capable and caring sons. Her mechanical skills and precise nature showed themselves in many ways as she and Peter cleared trees and brush and built a cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin. This small cottage, build with love and a strong back, was a foundation for the family. She managed payroll for the family business where her attention to detail contributed significantly to its continued growth. Her time spent with her 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and extended family were filled with joy. She leaves a legacy of love, strength, and thankfulness. Ever the talented athlete, she loved golf with her friends in Arizona and skiing with family. Judy is preceded in death by her father, Dale, and mother, Ruth. She is survived by her husband, Peter; sons, Daniel (Pamela) Hoeffel, and David (Jennifer) Hoeffel; grandchildren, Max, Sam, Kate, Jane, Laine, and Ethan Hoeffel, Paige (Steve) Roering, and Dale (Zach) Hoeffel-Moore; great grandchildren, Grant and Florence; brothers, James (Judith), Thomas (Joan), and Richard (Joy) Weyhmiller, and by many other relatives and friends. Judy received an Aortic heart valve replacement in 2001 at the Nasseff Heart Center of United Hospital in St. Paul. She viewed every day thereafter as a gift. It is with this in mind we ask that any memorial donations be made to the United Hospital Foundation.
