Juanita M. Bauer

Juanita Bauer, age 94 of Hastings, died July 19, 2015 at Regina Medical Center following a brief illness.Juanita Margaret the daughter of John and Susan (Holzemer) Mamer, was born on June 17, 1921 in Hastings. She attended rural country school and was united in marriage to Henry Bauer, whom later preceded her in death. Juanita then married Herbert Bauer and he also preceded her in death. She was an accomplished homemaker and enjoyed helping her husbands on the farm. Juanita loved crocheting, nature, and all types of animals. She was an avid gardener for both flowers as well as vegetables, and was also known for her pioneering thoughts of recycling and reusing many things within the farm. Above all, she was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husbands; children, James Bauer, Mary Weiers and Carol Gores; and by many siblings.Juanita is survived by her children, Marvin Bauer and Laura Bauer, both of Hastings; her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; also many other relatives and friends.Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Friday, July 24, 2015 at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings, with Fr. Thomas McKenzie officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
