Joy Marie Holm

Holm, Joy Marie Age 77, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home on January 30, 2017 after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure. Joy was born December 8, 1939, in Crookston, MN to the late Leonard and Doris Goulet. She was the oldest of 12 children. Joy is survived by her four children: Craig (Marilyn) Holm, Cheryl (Beverly) Holm, Debra (Jason) Iwasko and Caryn (Darren) Oredson, eight siblings: Carole (Duane) Glass, Vicki (Michael) Bump, Diane (David) Gunderson, Kathryn (Todd) Lessen, Donna Goulet, Michael Goulet, Jim (Ray) Goulet, Ginny (Lyndon) Pream, sister-in-law Linda Goulet , 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, an aunt and several nieces and nephews. Joy graduated from Thief River Falls High School and then attended vocational school. After raising her family, she used these skills to work as administrative assistant and a customer service representative. Joy married John Holm in 1960. They moved to Hastings, MN in 1968 where John started a family shoe store that he operated for over 15 years. With the exception of her last 7 months, Joy lived the rest of her life in Hastings. In her early years, Joy enjoyed watching her children at their many sporting events, visiting with friends and family, playing cards, was an avid reader, and a member of Al-Anon. Later in life she continued to read and enjoyed watching her favorite Hallmark, Lifetime and OWN TV programs. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 10th at 11 AM, visitation beginning at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hastings MN, 2035 West 15th Street.
