Joseph Martineau

Joseph L. Martineau, age 72, of Hastings, passed away at home March 21, 2014. He was born in St. Paul on November 7, 1941 to Leo and Ann (Simon) Martineau. He married Carol Ann Rutherford on September 15, 1962. Joe loved his time at the summer cottage, especially the times he spent teaching his grandkids how to fish and swim. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rose and Marlene; and his brother, Edward. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann; children, Timothy (Mireya); Gerald (Mee Rahn); Thomas (Theresa); Steven (Tracy); Joseph Jr. (Bridget); and Stacy (Jim) Swanson; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Jane); and William (Rose); sisters, Beatrice Schueller; Patricia Moser; and Laura Gene Volness; brothers in law, William (Christine) Rutherford; and James (Judy) Rutherford; many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Jim Perkl, will be held on Friday (3/28) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held on Thurs. (3/27) from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Pallbearers are Danny Martineau; Ryan Martineau; Shay Martineau; Leo Martineau; Roger Martineau; and Joseph Swanson. Interment Lakeside Cemetery.
