Joseph F. Lenertz

Joseph F. Lenertz, age 91 of Hastings, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Regina Medical Center, Hastings.Joseph Francis, the son of Joseph and Elsie (Spindler) Lenertz, was born on August 20, 1924 in St. Paul. Following his education, Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and was later granted an honorable discharge. Joseph was united in marriage to Joan Peterson and she later preceded him in death. He then married Dolores Phillips and she also preceded him in death. He was a longtime cattle salesman at the South St. Paul Stockyard where he enjoyed visiting with the many friends he made over the years. Joseph loved to deer hunt, attend airshows and having coffee and donuts with his friends at the bakery.He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his two wives, Joan and Dolores.Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Lenertz, George (Yvonne) Lenertz, Jill (Rodney) Stenroos, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Albrecht and Catherine Lucas; his eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends. Private family interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
