John W. Sperr

John W. Sperr, age 86, of Hastings, diedWednesday, April 22, 2009. John was born October 6, 1922 in Donnelly, MN to John and Lena (Willie) Sperr. He married Patricia Turchin in November of 1950. John was a former employee of the Hastings Creamery for 32 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. John was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Joy, and brothers Walter and Albert. He is survived by his wife Patricia; children John Sperr Jr. of Hastings, Annette (Jeff) Erickson of Ft. Thomas, KY, Calvin (Sharisse) Sperr of St. Michael, MN, and Michael (Pam) Sperr of Shakopee; also his 8 grandchildren Andrew, Lydia, Matthew Erickson, Boden Delaney Sperr, Emma, Joseph, Grace Sperr; and 9 siblings Marjorie, Fred, Edward, Gayle, Gloria, Leland, Elizabeth, Arland, and May. The Funeral Service, officiated by Fr. Abraham George will be held at 11:30am Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the CATURIA-SMIDT FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings, with visitation after 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery, Hastings.
