John "Jack" Horsch, age 62 of Hampton, died Tuesday morning, December 17, 2019, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. John William, the son of William and Lorraine (Fahey) Horsch, was born in Hastings on December 18, 1956. Following his graduation from Rosemount with the class of 1975, Jack worked briefly for Nilcon Construction and later at Vic's Crane. While at Vic's, Jack was a boiler maker, crane operator, and retired as a yard manager in 2013. Jack was one of the best operators and enjoyed mentoring many people throughout his career. On August 11, 2006, he was united in marriage to Helen Abrams. Jack loved woodworking, fishing, hunting, and was a master flower and vegetable gardener. He also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jack is survived by his wife, Helen Abrams-Horsch; son, Josh (Vanessa) Horsch; grandchildren, Madison, Natalie, and Owen; siblings, Tom (Michelle) Horsch, Jim (Sandra) Horsch, and Michael (Kris) Horsch; brother-in-law, Mike (Hopper) Abrams; sisters-in-law, Susan Mirecle, Michele (Steve) Glenn, and Trisha (Dave) Rhode; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Private family interment will take place at St. Agatha's Cemetery in Coates. In lieu of flowers, Jack's family kindly requests memorials. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
