John Andrew Ratey

John Andrew Ratey, age 69, of Hastings, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at home. John Andrew, was born June 28, 1946, in Trenton, NJ to John W. and Anna (Krisanda) Ratey. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Trenton and from New York State University. He was married on the full moon of July 1978 to Cynthia (Christianson) in their back yard in Tavernier, FL. He worked as a general contractor in the construction trade. John was an adventurous spirit who worked many different jobs in life. He loved fishing, travel, anything outdoors and his grandkids. He wanted to make a difference for God everywhere he went. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Cynthia, daughters Desiree Crain of Hastings, Jael (Brad) Ellsworth of Prescott, WI, a son John (Shannon) Ratey of West St. Paul, MN; a sister Judy (Dominique) Dito, grandchildren Braden Joey Crain, Annabelle Emma Ellsworth and Finnian Andrew Ratey. The Memorial Celebration of Life, officiated by Rev. Randy Berg will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 11 AM at Calvary Christian Church, 907 15th Street West, Hastings, MN. There will be a visitation for 1 hour prior to the service.
