Jerome "Art" Hoffman

Jerome �Art� Hoffman, age 82, of Hastings died June 21, 2011 in River Falls, WI. Jerome �Art� was born May 13, 1929 in Hastings to Arthur and Theresa (Doyle) Hoffman. He was a 1948 graduate of Hastings High School and served in the National Guard until being called up to serve in Korea. He married Joyce Melby on October 20, 1949 at Our Saviour�s Lutheran Church parsonage. He was employed 38 years for 3M as a chemist prior to retirement. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, and to his family, became knownas the �lawn� ranger and mole trapper. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister Joan; and brother Arthur. Jerome �Art� is survived by his wife Joyce; children John (Lucy) Hoffman of Hastings, Jeri Hoffman of Hastings, Jaci (Mark) Boxrud of Mora, MN, Joleen (Jeff) Elliott of Hastings, Julie Hoffman of Tracey, MD, Janet (Jon) Pederson of Sarasota, FL, Jim (Molly) Hoffman of Hastings; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin will be held 1pm Monday, June 27, 2011at Our Saviour�s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 W.Ninth St., Hastings, followed by interment in Lakeside Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210. His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 5-7pm Sunday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings and also 1 hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to The Lutheran Home, 640 North Main St., River Falls, WI 54022.
