Jeffrey M. "Jeff" Schommer

Jeffrey M. Schommer, age 46, of Hastings, passed away January 3, 2022. He was born in Red Wing on November 24, 1975 to Edward "Mike" and Shirley (Freiermuth) Schommer. Jeff worked for the Hastings Bus Company and was an avid Hastings Raiders and Minnesota Vikings fan. He was a member of the Sharks Special Olympic Team, the Knights of Columbus, the United Way and was an usher at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for many years. He enjoyed country music, All Star Wresting, bowling and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward "Mike" Schommer. Jeff is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Schommer; his five favorite sisters, Renee (Dwight) Keene, Roxanne (Kevin) Lutz. Michelle (Jerry) Otto, Char (Mike) King, Lynn (Earl) Carlson; 13 nieces and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews; caregiver for over 2 years, John Mason; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings. A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to mass at church. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel.
