Jeffrey A. Kavitz

Jeffrey A. Kavitz, age 54, of Wilson, WI, passed away unexpectedly at home February 24, 2019. He was born in Hastings to Ron and Gloria (Girgen) Kavitz. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1983. Jeff entered the Army after High School and then went to work in the Carpenters Union 322. He worked on US Bank Stadium and the Orpheum Theatre. He loved fishing, hunting with his son, spending time with his daughter baking and crafting, and watching sunsets with Cheryl. Jeff was an avid outdoors man. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold and his bark was much worse than his bite. He was very proud of the home he built, and kept his yard immaculate. Jeff loved a cold Mickey's and his faithful buddies Marley, Lance and Taz. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kavitz; uncles, Robert, Gary, Kenneth, and Eugene; and his aunt, Mary Ann Lamberger. Jeff is survived by his children, Brianna and Brock Berres; significant other, Cheryl Berres; mother, Gloria Kavitz; siblings, Maleia (Joel) Bonin, and Ronald Kavitz; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday (3/3) at 3:00 PM at the American Legion Post 47, 50 Sibley St. in Hastings with a gathering 2 hours prior to the service. A celebration of life will also be held on Saturday (3/9) from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Hill Top Bar and Grill, 2508 US 12 in Woodville, WI. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
