Janice P. Bour

Janice "Jan" Bour passed away peacefully and comfortably on February 20, 2022 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, surrounded by her family. Janice Pearl, the daughter of Lake and Hazel (Heilman) Awtrey was born on December 7, 1937 in Blue Earth, Minnesota and graduated from St. Paul Park High School. She married Tony Bour and was a devout and loving mother to her eight children. Jan was gifted in sewing and knitting. She enjoyed time at her cabin in Wisconsin, and was employed with Modern Woodmen of America and also owned a machine embroidery business. She volunteered throughout her life. Her family near and far brought her great joy and inspiration. She loved each one of her family to the fullest, including sending cards for every birthday and holiday. Her generous spirit and kindnesses to all will be forever treasured. She loved the Lord with all her all heart, reading His word everyday. She is survived by her eight children; Jeanne (Dave) Ritzman, Jane (Daniel) Thoreson, Julie McCarthy (Geno), Tony (Celeste) Bour, Jackie Bour, Judy (John) Zuzek, Jon (Nancy) Bour, and Joel (Cindy) Bour; grandchildren, Jason Ritzman, Lucas Ritzman, Michael (Lindsey) Thoreson, Brianne (Nathan) DeLoach, Kristin Thoreson, Jonathan Thoreson, Teghan (Josiah) Murphy; Rachael (Ben) Trebesch, Alex Bour, Joseph Zuzek (Brooke Hays), Jacob Zuzek, Zoe Bour, Max Bour; great-grandchildren, Caris Thoreson, Charlie DeLoach, Brock Thoreson, Preston DeLoach and baby Trebesch; sister, Judy (Bill) Cote; former spouse, Tony Sr. and many dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Janice is preceded in death by her parents; stillborn daughter Mary Susan and niece Trudy Tilseth. A private, family service has been scheduled; with interment at Lakeside Cemetery of Hastings, Minnesota. Arrangements are being handled by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel.
