James P. Hellzen

James P. Hellzen, age 78, of Rosemount died April 1, 2012 at his residence.James was born November 7, 1933 in Kanabec County to Fabian and Elsa (Carlson) Hellzen. He was a graduate of Augsburg College, Past president of the Hastings Lion's Club, and a former member of the Hastings Country Club. Prior to his retirement he worked for 3M. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and sister Evelyn. James is survived by his wife Marlene; children Kristin (Eric) Olson, Karen (Andrew) Reller and James Philip Hellzen II; grandchildren James Philip III, Jordan (Brittany, nee Braatz), Timothy, Courtney, Rachel, Connor, Samuel and Katherine; great-granddaughter McKenna; siblings Elaine (Virgil) Anderson and Carl (Margaret) Hellzen.Visitation will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, Historic Fort Snelling, Highways 5 and 55. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow the service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The pallbearers are Eric Olson, Connor Olson, Jamie Hellzen, Timothy Hellzen, Andrew Reller, and Scott Hellzen.
