Irene M. Palm

Irene E. Palm passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Regina Transitional Care, Hastings.Born on October 25, 1931 to parents Christian and Catherine Palm, Irene was a lifelong resident ofHastings. She graduated fromHastingsHigh Schoolin 1949. Irene was employed at Smeads and later at 3Ms Chemolite plant inCottage Grove. She retired from 3Mafter 38 years andwas a member of 3Ms 25 Year Club.Irene was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and loved cats. She enjoyed puzzles and traveling with her sister Rose with trips toGermany and all 50 States. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Leo, Ray, John, Arnold; sisters Celestine Keetley, Loretta Palm, Rose Palm, Agnes Nappin; and nephew Robert Nappin. She is survived by a sister, Florence Skow of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces,and great nephews.Visitation willbeheld onSaturday, September 17, 2016 from9:30to 10:30at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services,201 Seventh Street, inHastings,with amemorial service beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St.Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery inHastings. The family requests any donations be given in her memory toHastings Family Service.
