Irene C. Eckert

Irene C. Eckert, age 84, of Hastings died on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Irene was born July 27, 1923 in Marshan Twp. to John and Susan (Holzemer) Mamer. She was a 1940 graduate of Hastings High School, and married Bernard Eckert on September 26, 1945 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. She was a wonderfulhomemaker and very organized. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, 7 siblings and a daughterKathryn Eckert Johnson. She is survived by her husband Bernard, children Patricia M. Eckert of Newport Beach, CA, Willie (Deb) Eckert of Hastings, and Randy Eckert of Prescott, WI; also 3 grandchildren Allison Eckert, Katrina Nicole Johnson, and Nicholas Prescott Johnson; also sister Juanita Bauer of Hastings. The funeral service for Irene Eckert will be held at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West 15th Street in Hastings at noon on Saturday, April 12, 2008 with a visitation held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. The interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
