Irene C. Burmeister

Irene B. Burmeister, age 83 of Hastings died May 18, 2012 at Regina Nursing Home. Irene was born January 9, 1929 in Fillmore County, MN to Walter and Minerva (Vickerman)Gerard. She married Erwin C. Burmeister on June 9, 1951 in Hastings. Irene was an employee of Smead Manufacturing for 30 years prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Erwin. Survivors include her five children, Roxanne Burmeister of Hastings, Kathryn (Brian) Ackerman of Red Wing, Mary Burmeister of West Fargo, ND Erwin Burmeister Jr. of Hastings and Ruth (Kenneth) Tix of Hastings; 3 grandchildren, Richard and John Tix, and Eric Burmeister; also her dogs Charlie and Shadow. The Funeral Service, officiated by Gordon Gathright will be held 11 AM Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
