Irene Ann Massman

Irene A. Massman, age 82 of Hastings, died May 14, 2015 at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings. Irene Ann was born April 30, 1933 in Minneapolis to Charles and Florence (Bauer) Wagner. She was a graduate of Humboldt High School in St. Paul and attended the U. of M. Irene married Ray Massman in St. Paul and they enjoyed traveling all over the world. She had served over 20 years as a secretary to the Metropolitan Council. Irene loved music and taught piano for many years as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray in 2008; and brother, Charles. Irene is survived by her children, Nancy Massman (friend Paul Englin) of Montana, Dan (Barb) Massman of Hastings, Bonnie Edwards of Tulsa, OK, and Charles Massman (friend Alice Perry) of Eagan; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 noon Wednesday, May 20 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth St., Hastings. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the Mass. Private inurnment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Hastings United Way or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
