Henry F. Peine, age 91 of New Trier, died peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones. Henry Frank, the son of Henry C. and Margaret (Wollmering) Peine, was born on July 3, 1925, in Empire Township, Dakota County, Minnesota. On November 25, 1950, Henry was united in marriage to Monica Maher at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings. Henry was an outstanding life-long farmer and cattleman, at one point having the largest feedlot in Dakota County. He also served on the Douglas Township Board for over 40 years. Henry always considered everyone he met to be a good friend and he had intelligence way beyond his education.He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Ervin, Butch, Lawrence, Viola Weber and Mary Rose Feidt.Henry is survived by Monica, his wife of 65 years, who was the love of his life; his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; his adopted son, Paul Yung; his siblings, John (Helen) Peine, Lloyd (Lenore) Peine, Marge Beissel and Casey (Ron) Greene; and by many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at St. Marys Catholic Church in New Trier, with visitation from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday morning also at church. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Gery Peine, Jim Feidt, David Peine, Mark Peine, Andy Ostertag, Tom Peine, Eric Young, Miles Erickson; honorary pallbearers are Joe, Mark and Steve Wollmering, Jerry Werner, Mark Flom, Jim McGraw, Tom Kimmes, Tom Fliegel, Bob Rahman, Leo Braun, Garry Mentzer, Ted Tvetene and Jeff Thompson.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
