Helen M. Andreasen, age 91 of Hastings MN, went to heaven on October 11, 2016 after a life filled with love, family and friends. Helen grew up in Minneapolis where she, at the age of 12, met and later married the love of her life, Dale. While he served in the Army during WWII, she served her country as one of the "Rosie the Riveters." After WWII and the Korean War, the couple raised their family while living in Little Falls, Richfield and Hastings. Helens career included work at Winzen Research, Northwest Airlines, the medical office of Dr. Herman Just and then retired from her favorite job with the Dakota County Attorneys Office. The couple realized their retirement dream and lived on Lake Alexander in Cushing MN before Dales death in 2000. Helen loved entertaining, cooking, and sewing for her family and friends. She was also active with her Lutheran Churches and with the Regina Hospital Auxiliary. She was proud of her Czech heritage and was the best Kolache maker. Helen was known for her sparkly blue eyes, infectious smile and her ability to make the best of any situation.Helen is survived by her children Don (Connie), Karen Jones, Marilee Adams (Jim) and Brian (Mary Jo), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Our Saviours Ev. Lutheran Church, Hastings, with Reverend Doug Duin officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be held at church on Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
