Helen Lena (Schultz) Magone, age 92 of Denmark Township (Hastings) died May 10, 2012 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Helen was born June 11, 1919 in St. Paul. She was the only daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Jack) Schultz. She had 2 brothers, Clarence and Raymond who have preceded her in death. Helen was baptized at St. Saruaber Chapel, Lilydale, MN on September 7, 1919 by Pastor Bernard Lovgrew and made her confirmation at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Paul on March 29, 1931 at the age of twelve. Special permission was granted that she attended classes with her brother at an early age and she attended school at Lilydale School through theeighth grade. Helen worked at Maendler Brush Co. in St. Paul from 1940-1949. On June 4, 1949 she was united in holy marriage to George H. Magone at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul. He preceded her in death in 1974. Their union was blessed with one daughter, GeorgAnn (Steve) Biscoe and two sons, Ron and David Magone. Helen was also blessed with four grandchildren, Bob (Cathy) Biscoe, Tom (Kris) Biscoe, Jennifer Biscoeand Megan (David) Griemann. She also has six great-grandchildren Emily, Claire, Zach, Rachel, Bella, Jackson, and was preceded in death by great-grandson Austin William Kenneth Griemann. Helen is also survived by a niece, Mary Rose (Wally) Zieman and a great-nephew Tom Zieman.Helen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were one of her greatest joys. Anyone who knew Helen knew that she loved sparkly jewelry and frilly socks! The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Nancy Swanson will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave. So., Cottage Grove with visitation after 9:30 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in Cottage Grove Cemetery. The pallbearers are Bob Biscoe, Tom Biscoe, Dave Griemann, Craig Meyer, Wally Zieman, and Tom Zieman.
