Heather Marie Baker

Heather M. Baker, age 35, of Hastings, died suddenly on February 23, 2015 at her home. Heather Marie, the daughter of Darlene (Harris) Baker, was born on August 2, 1979 in Minneapolis. After receiving her education, she worked for Klesk Manufacturing in Minneapolis for many years. Heather loved crafting, especially doing beadwork on glasses, and was always willing to help anyone out. She was preceded in death by her great grandmother; and by her maternal grandparents. She is survived by her son, Derek Lee Devon Preston Jr.; her mother, Darlene Baker of Hastings; her siblings, Robert (Sherry) Baker and Joseph Baker, both of Hastings; her niece, Samantha Jo Baker; her many aunts, uncles, cousins and many of her countless friends that she considered family; and by her cat, Shilo. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a time of sharing at 4 p.m. at Green Mill, 909 Vermillion Street, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Heather.Arrangements are being completed by the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
