Harry G. LarsonLarson, Harry George, 95, passed away September 19 in Hastings, MN. Born in Henderson, MN, Harry and his family lived in Le Sueur, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1939. During WWII he joined Honeywell to help install and train pilots to use the new C-1 automatic pilot system. Harry worked as an engineer at WCCO Radio during the live radio days of the 40s and 50s. In 1957 he joined Honeywell again, working on the Columbia Space Shuttle Program. Married in 1940 to Dorothy Vernon, they lived in the Twin Cities and Largo, FL, before moving to Hastings in 2002. An amateur radio enthusiast since high school, he talked to hams as WOSX and WJK. Harry loved big band music and played the saxophone in the Minneapolis dance band The Execs in the 1960s and later in The Village Band in Largo. He is preceded in death by beloved wife Dorothy; son Bruce; sisters Leota (Briegel) and Gladys (Hackbarth); brother Leslie; parents Clara and George Larson; and survived by daughters Christine and JoAnn (Rick Graf); granddaughter Rachel (Robert Prairie). The Memorial Service is 3 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 6, at St. Philips Lutheran Church, 1401 15th St West, Hastings, MN 55033.
