Harry Franklin Johnson, age 88, of Hastings died peacefully at Augustana Care Center in Hastings on Wednesday, June 26 after an exhausting battle with Parkinson�s . He was born December 3, 1924, in Afton Township to Joseph and Mary (Fisher) Johnson. Being large in stature, he left school in the eighthgrade to help on his family�s farm. He later was employed by HD Hudson Mfg. Co. in Hastings where he retired 42 years later. He married Jean Marie Otto, a resilient widow of six children, on June 30, 1956 and had two subsequent children. He was a simple man, quiet and compassionate providing unconditional love to his wife and children. He is preceded in death by his wife Jean, parents, brothers, William and Robert, and sister, Hattie. He will be deeply missed by his children Gary (Betty) Ginther , Peggy (Alan) Paxton, Carol (Dan) Schroeder, John (Liz) Ginther, George Ginther, Ginger (Dan) Wipperfurth, Patty (Jeff) Langenfeld, and William Johnson, his sister Marie Anderson of River Falls, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home with 1 hour visitation prior to the service. Interment following at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery.
