Harold J. Kieffer, age 76, of Hastings, diedSaturday, April 26, 2008 at the United Hospital in St. Paul. He was bornJune 25, 1931 in Red Wing, MN to Francis and Eliza (O'Shaughnessy) Kieffer. Harold served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a farmer. He married Alyce Gergen on September 5, 1959 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean Francis Fox and brother Ralph Kieffer. Harold issurvived by his wife Alyce; children Laurie (Keith) Smead, Allan (Anne) Kieffer all of Hastings, Ann (David) Wengeler of Hampton, Kerri (Robert) Pollard John (Stacey) Kieffer all of Hastings; also 10 grandchildren Mitchell Smead, James Smead, Michael Kieffer, Daniel Wengeler, Kalli Kieffer, Cole Kieffer, Sarah Kieffer, Bradley Wengeler, Macy Pollard, and Gregory Pollard. TheFuneral Service, officiated by Fr.Leonard Siebenaler, Fr. Marvin Klaers, and Fr. Jay Kythewill be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 30, 2008at ST. JOSEPH�S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Miesville, MN. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210. Visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH from 4-8 PM Tuesday and 1hr prior to the Wednesday service.
