Hans H. Behrens

Hans Henry Behrens, age 87, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on October 8th, 2009. Hans began his career in teaching at Karlstad and Warren, MN, followed by 30 years in banking at the Federal Land Bank in MN, and Bank of Cooperatives in Agawam, MA. He had a strong Lutheran faith and was active in his church community. He celebrated 54 years of marriage with his beloved Helen, was proud of his 4 children and delighted in his 5 grandchildren. Hans enjoyed fishing at the cabin, gardening, woodworking and traveling. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents, Hermine (Schmidt) and August; siblings, Sigfried and Elsie (Hanson). Survived by his children, John (Maureen); Susan (John) Skogsote; Tom (Maureen); and Kurt (Laura Robertson); grandchildren, Martin and Aline Skogstoe; Michael, Jack, and Bridget Behrens; brother, Walter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service, officiated by Reverend Josh Bernau, will be held Tuesday, 10/13 at 9:30am at Hope Lutheran Church, 16898 Michael Ave., Hastings. Visitation will be held on Monday, 10/12 from 5-7pm at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
