Gladys M. Odman

Gladys M. Odman, age 84 of Hastings, passed away at Augustana Care Center on Sunday morning, July 1, 2018. Gladys Marion, was born on the family farm to James and Vera (McKinley) Burr on June 23, 1934. She met the love of her life, Paul Odman, while he was working on the farm and they were united in marriage on April 21, 1951. She worked for more than 40 years at Greif Brothers. In her free time, she loved to play music, dancing, and reusing and repurposing various items around the house. She also enjoyed cooking, spending time with her pets, friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant child, Paula; and by her grandson, Andrew Fredline. Gladys is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Gary (Barb) Odman, Jaci (Pete) Crosby, and Randy (Chris) Odman; grandchildren, Kara (Tommy) Cole, Rania Odman, Alicia Hoffman, David (Jennifer) Odman, Jeremy (Alysha) Fredline, Paula Johnson, Anthony (Emily Walen) Odman, Nicholas (Shannon) Odman, and Hoss (Jessica Olson) Odman; 21 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2018 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, with Reverend Doug Duin officiating. Visitation will be held at church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
