Gerald F. Fuchs

Gerald F. "Jerry"Fuchs, age 79, of Ellsworth, WI died on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Augustana Care Center. Gerald was born on July 28, 1929 in Hastings to Conrad and Elizabeth (Leifeld) Fuchs. He graduated from Hastings High School, and was united in marriage to Marilyn Wagner on November 19, 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Gerald was a Production Supervisor at 3M, retiring in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Jeri. Gerald is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Jaci (Kerry) Schmitz of Hastings, Tom (Ruth) Fuchs of Hastings, Lauri (Greg) Hoffman of Hastings, Dave (Nancy) Fuchs of St. Michael; 11 grandchildren, Eric and Mike Morland, Dana (Dustin) Schluessler, Jill Schmitz, Kyla Fuchs, Kelsey (Sam Lewis) Fuchs, Matt (Mandy) Hoffman, Adam Hoffman, Dan, Ryan, and Zach Fuchs; 3 great grandchildren, Kali and Alex Morland, Collin Hoffman; siblings, Gene (Peg) Fuchs of Hastings, Paul (Juanita) Fuchs of Tucson, AZ, Dick (Dorothy) Fuchs of Hastings, Mary (Bruce) Holien of Vermillion, Kathy Langeslay of Hastings, Diane (Pete) Beissel of Hastings, Connie (Pat) Fuchs of Hastings, Mike (Mary) Fuchs of Huron, SD; nieces and nephews. The Memorial Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl and Fr. Tom Donaldson, will be held at 9:30 AM Monday, February 23, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W.Fifteenth St., Hastings, followed by interment in parish cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 4-7PM at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E.Seventh St., Hastings, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
