George F. Hayek

George F. Hayek, age 78, of Hastings, formerly of St. Paul, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 5, 2010. George was born January 1, 1932 in St. Paul to Frank and Leona Hayek. He is preceded in death by his parents, and grandsons, Erin and Michael. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie; children, Michele (Lincoln) Starkey; Michael Hayek; Melissa (Tim) Ozorio; Matthew (Lynn) Hayek; and Monica 'Holly' Hayek. George was an amazing, fun loving grandfather to 9 wonderful grandchildren, Kristina; Tiffany; Bryan; Courtney; Dane; Ally; Dalton; Bob; and Alvin; and 1 great grandson, Aaron. He is also survived by his sisters, Irene Grundtner and Annie (Rich) Williams. A Celebration of George's Life will be held Sunday, March 14, from 12 noon - 4:00 PM at Treasure Island Resort and Casino in the Tahiti Room. The service will start at 1:00 pm.
