Fredrick Leo Bauer

Fredrick Leo Bauer, a loving father and grandfather, age 63, of Hastings, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Hastings. Fredrick Leo was born September 2, 1954, in Red Wing, MN to Nick and Marcella (Fox) Bauer. He attended Hastings schools, graduating in 1973. Fred married Cindy Jacobson, and they enjoyed 27 years of marriage. He greatly enjoyed gardening and his family. He worked for CENEX as a plant operator. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Cindy Hood. He is survived by his daughter Jeni (Joseph) Slattery and by his son Josh (Gretchen) Bauer; 6 grandchildren Shannon, Jackson, Shea Jayden Slattery and Carter Connor Bauer; his former wife Cindy Jacobson; siblings Marcy (Nick) Ries, Kay (Mike) McGrath, Steve (Sylvia) Bauer, Bruce (CeCe) Bauer and Dan (Gwen) Bauer; and a brother in law Jim Hood. Visitation for Fred Bauer will be held Friday, March 23, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 PM at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Miesville, 23955 Nicolai Ave., Hastings and also 1 hour prior to the funeral on Saturday. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Terry Beeson and Fr. Martin Siebenaler, will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 24, 2018 also at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Casket bearers will be Aaron Bauer, Brent McGrath, Dennis McGrath, Luke Hood, Rodney Ries, Jeremy Jacobson, Tim Kordosky and Fritz Bretschneider.
