Frances E. Haugley

Frances E. Haugley, age 89, of Hastings passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones November 21, 2023.

Fran was married to Richard Platson Sr. for 15 years, and later remarried Joel Haugley for 47 years. Her pride and joy were her kids, grandkids, and 15 more years, her foster children. Over the years, she had many interests in crafts, such as cooking, floral design, cake decorating, sewing, and quilting. Fran loved listening to Joel play Concertina and loved to dance. During her retirement, she enjoyed going for car rides with Joel, antiquing, and going to rodeos. She had a love for Caffeine Free Diet Coke and food, but you better make sure that no food on her plate touched. She had class for sass, and was known for her stubbornness. She made heads turn with her favorite sayings which were, "HOLY BALLS!" and, "DAMN KIDS!" Her infectious smile, kind heart, and laughter will be missed.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Eva Dekart; step-mother Katie; husband, Joel; sons, Scott Platson and Jeffrey Platson; grandchildren, Monica Sue Haugley & Sheila Glasby; siblings, Carly, Ben, Aggie, Theresa, Joseph, and Frank.

She is survived by her loving children, Richard Jr. (Sheri), Luann, Ron, Mark (Deanna), Tom, and Francine (John); 29 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A service for Fran will be held Tuesday, November 28 at 12:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel with a visitation from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
