Elizabeth "Betty" Collins

Elizabeth Louise (Freiermuth) Collins age 86, has now been re-united in heaven with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Betty was preceded in death by husband, Don; baby girl, Linda; son, Ron; grandson, Matthew; and son-in-law Mike Stockton. She leaves behind her beloved children, Mike, Kathy, Karen Stockton, and Tom (Lisa); grandchildren, Angela, Marty, Trever, Tully, Sydney, Casey, Sarah, Will, Travis, and Henry; and great grandchildren, Dylan, and Isaiah. Betty married her high school sweetheart, Don. They built a house on Red Wing Blvd and raised five children. She was a stay-at-home mother for many years. Betty loved spending time with her children, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and camping. Betty worked as a secretary at the Minnesota State Hospital, Smead’s and in voter registration at the Dakota County Government Center, where she retired. Betty was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling with the Collins relatives, reading, long walks and ceramic class. Doll making was one of Betty’s favorite hobbies. In her senior years, Betty took classes and learned how to swim. She worked out and swam at the YMCA and enjoyed walking to the Vermillion Falls. Betty so loved her husband, children and her home, on Red Wing Blvd where she lived for over 60 years. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hastings Family Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery.
