Eldon E. Gilbert

Eldon E. Gilbert, age 67, of Hastings, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings.Eldon was born October 23, 1940 in Early, Iowa to Dale and Gladys (Brott) Gilbert. He had served in the U.S. Army, and worked for 35 years at the Ford Motor Co. as the parts control supervisor. He had married Judy Kenney on June 9, 1962 at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings.Eldon was preceded in death by both parents and his brother Ivan. He is survived by hiswife Judy; 4 children Todd (Mary Kay) Gilbert of Apple Valley, Steve (Shannon) Gilbert of Maple Grove, Cheryl (John) Kinney of Hastings, and Michelle (partner Jessica Mitchell) Gilbert of Eagan; 10 grandchildren Michael and Elizabeth, Nick and Kylea, Randy, Casey, Brittany, and Anjelica, Johnathon, and Alexandria; also 4 siblings Cleone Jones, Dorothy Vermillion, Marvin Gilbert, and Gale Gilbert. The visitation for Eldon E. Gilbert will be held at the ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON CATHOLIC CHURCH (MOTHER SETON HALL), 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings, west entrance from 4-8pm Friday also 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Saturday.The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM at the church. The interment will follow in the parish cemetery with graveside military honors provided by the Hastings V.F.W. Lyle Russell Post #1210. The pallbearers are Michael Gilbert, Nick Barnes, Randy Lunsford, Jeff Gilbert, Nate Gilbert, and Gabe Gilbert. Memorials are preferred to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
